Phil Ivey has been labeled as the number one poker contender on the globe by quite a few of the top professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to NJ before reaching turning 1. His grandfather introduced him to penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was hooked on poker and wanted to pickup whatever he could about poker. Phil started competing seriously after getting a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his techniques at the casinos in Atlantic City. He knows he makes errors in each session of poker and constantly strives to improve.

Despite the fact that Ivey has won some large tournaments, he prefers winning cash games on a regular basis.
