Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker player on the globe by most of the top pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before reaching turning 1. His grandpa showed him to penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was hooked on poker and wished to learn whatever he possibly could about poker. Phil routinely told his parents that he was planning on being a professional poker player. He did not allow the detrimental feedback from other people annihilate his dream of becoming one of the greatest poker competitors on the planet.

He began playing seriously after getting a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his abilities at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The initial number of years for him were a learning opportunity and winning was not a normal outcome at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he made 2 final tables and came away with his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the final table he destroyed quite a few of the well known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his skills to the next level and moved out west to Sin City. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Ivey credits his achievements to dedication and an eternal love for the game of poker. Phil states that he's learning every day and is incredibly humble about his accomplishments. Phil knows he makes blunders in each game of poker and constantly strives to get better.

Despite the fact that Phil has won some big-time tournaments, he prefers winning money games on a regular basis.
